Rathnure is a small village on the R731 regional road about seven and a half miles from the town of Enniscorthy, County Wexford. The village is located at the foot of the Blackstairs Mountains, which border County Carlow on the opposite side.
The name 'Rathnure' is from the Irish Ráth an Iúir, meaning 'ringfort of the yew trees'.[1]
