Quidhampton is a hamlet within the parish of Overton in Hampshire.
The hamlet is to be found just to the north of the large village of Overton, on the north bank of the River Test.
Overton Station, a railway station on the West of England Main Line, is actually in Quidhampton.
Name
The name 'Quidhampton' probably means "muddy home farm" or "home farm with good manure", from the Old English cwead ('dung', or 'dirt') and ham-tun ('homestead village').[1]
