Postwick is a village of Norfolk, with the Norfolk Broads, four and half miles east of Norwich, just south of the eastern end of the A47 Norwich southern bypass. Postwick stands on the north bank of the River Yare.
Almost two miles to the north-east is its neighbouring village, Witton, with which Postwick shares a civil parish. The 2011 census recorded this parish with a population of 404, in 162 households.
The name "Postwick" means "Poss(a)'s village".
The village is affected by the closeness of Norwich. One of the city's Park & Ride locations is here.
History
A ferry once operated on the River Yare between Postwick and Surlingham. It ceased around 1939 after a collision with a coaster[1]
