Palnackie is a village in the parish of Buittle in Kirkcudbrightshire. It has a population of approximately 250 and is a working port on the tidal reach of the Urr Water. The village stands on the western shore of the river.

Big Society

Palnackie is home to the World Flounder Tramping Championship,[1] which takes place in the Urr Water. Stopped in 2010 by health and safety rules,[2] the championship was set to resume in 2015.[3]
