Parish church
The Church of St John the Evangelist, the parish church, is one of the most complete fortified churches in the area. It lay in ruins from the Dissolution of the Monasteries under King Henry VIII until the 19th century, but it was repaired and extended in 1844 by Sara Losh.
The church is today designated as a Grade I listed building.[1]
