Moss Islands

The Moss Islands lie between Cierva Point and Midas Island off the Danco Coast of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory.
These islands were probably sighted by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition in January 1898. They were charted by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition in December 1902, on which occasion the name Moss-Insel was applied to the largest and easternmost island from the abundant growth of moss and lichen in summer. They were further charted by the French Antarctic Expedition of 1903-05, which labelled them IÎle Moose.[1]
The islands were photographed from the air by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition of 1956-57.
