Mockerkin is a settlement in Cumberland, standing just outside the Lake District National Park boundary, some six miles south of Cockermouth, and a mile south-east of Ullock.
The name is said to derive from Cumbric words meaning 'Corcán's hilltop, after an otherwise unknown local lord or landowner.[1]
Mockerkin Tarn lies on the west side of the village.
