Lystad Bay

Lystad Bay is a bay two and a half nautical miles wide which indents the west side of Horseshoe Island, in the north-east part of Marguerite Bay on the Fallières Coast of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory.

The bay was first surveyed in 1936–37 by the British Graham Land Expedition under John Rymill, and its anchorage and approaches were roughly charted in February 1937. Later, in 1940, it was visited by the USMS North Star and USS Bear of the United States Antarctic Service and called 'Horseshoe Island Cove'. The bay was resurveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from "Stonington Island" in 1948. It was further charted by an RN Hydrographic Survey Unit in 1957

The is today named after Captain Isak Lystad of the North Star.
