Little Wakering is a linear village in Essex, attached to Great Wakering, north of the coast to Shoeburyness. At its north end, the cottages continue as the village of Barling.
The church in the village is St Mary's, buit in the 12th century, the nave and chancel being of that age. It has a 15th century extension to the chancel and west tower. It was rebuilt in the 19th century and underwent a restoration in the 20th century. The church is a Grade II* listed building.[1]
A tidal creek feeding the River Roach (which in turn feeds the River Crouch lies beside the village.
