Lissan is a civil and ecclesiastical parish that spans the borders of the counties of Tyrone and Londonderry. It lies in the baronies of Dungannon Upper and Loughinsholin. The name is from the Irish ‘’Lios Áine’’, meaning “Aine's fort”. The local Roman Catholic church was built in 1908.
