Lagavulin is a small village on the Isle of Islay in the Inner Hebrides and belonging to Argyllshire. It is found about three miles outside Port Ellen, and within the parish of Kildalton,[1] on the A846 road.
The village is best known for being the home of Lagavulin single malt whisky.
The name of the place is from the Gaelic Lag a' Mhuilinn meaning "hollow of the mill".[2]
