King George Bay is a broad bay indenting the south coast of King George Island in the South Shetland Islands, within the British Antarctic Territory. It extends six nautical miles between Lions Rump and Turret Point.
The bay was charted and named on 24 January 1820 after the then-reigning King, George III, by a British expedition under Edward Bransfield. Bransfield landed and took formal possession of the island for the King. The bay named is named 'Georges Bay' on Bransfield's chart and 'George's Bay' on Bone's in 1824, later standardised as 'King George Bay'. The 'King George Bay Anchorage' is chartered to refer to part of the bay.
The bay was recharted by Discover Investigations in January 1937.
