Henfield Rock

Henfield Rock lies off the north coast of Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands in the British Antarctic Territory. It lies to the north-east of Catharina Point, the island's northern headland, and to the east of Heywood Island.

The rock was known to the nineteenth-century sealers and sometimes included under the name 'Powels Islands' or 'Heywood Islands'. Following air photography by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition in 1956-57, it was named in association with the names of sealers in this area, named Henfield Rock after Captain Joseph Henfield, Master of the American sealing ship Catharina from Stonington, Connecticut, who visited the South Shetland Islands in the 1820-21 season.
