Hakeford is a tiny hamlet in the midst of Norfolk, a mile and a half north of Deopham.
In the Domesday Book of 1086, Hakeford was recorded as a small settlement of six households.[1]
There is a small church here, St Mary's. It was begun in the 12th century but is described as "heavily restored". It is a Grade II* listed building. The church, along with its income, was appropriated to Marham Abbey in 1276.
