The Golitha Falls on the River Fowey in Cornwall are a popular visitor attraction.
The river here, having emerged from the moor enters Draynes Wood and here carves a rocky gorge, where the river tumbles in a fine cascade known as the Golitha Falls. The name (pronounced Goleetha) is derived from the Cornish word for obstruction. The Golitha Falls are also by the site of the old Wheal Victoria copper mine[1]
There is a three mile riverside walk, from the visitor car park here.[2]
