Geikie Glacier
Geikie Glacier is a glacier flowing north-east from Larssen Peak into Mercer Bay on the north coast of South Georgia.
The glacier was named by J. G. Andersson of the the Swedish Antarctic Expedition on 12 May 1902 after Sir Archibald Geikie (1835-1924), the geologist and pioneer of research in glacial geology.
Landsat satellite imagery 2003 showed that the glacier had undergone considerable retreat.
