The inlet in Flatts Village

Flatt's Inlet is a small channel in Bermuda which joins Harrington Sound with the Atlantic Ocean. It lies almost exactly between the territory's two municipalities, Hamilton and St George's.

Harrington Sound is almost entirely surrounded by the Bermudian mainland, and this narrow inlet is its only opening to the sea, at its south-westernmost point. Much of the sound's water though flows to and from the sea through subterranean channels. The ocean tide forcing its way into the sound and rushing back ensures that the inlet has a fast-moving current as the tide ebbs and flows.

A bridge (Flatt's Bridge) crosses the inlet, and the small, historic settlement, Flatts Village, stands on its south bank. The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo is located on its north bank.
