Far Forest is a small village in the north Worcestershire, three and a half miles west of Bewdley, and next to the border with Shropshire, marked by the Lem Brook.
The village is on the A4117 road, on the edge of the Wyre Forest near Fingerpost.
About the village
There are two churches here: Holy Trinity (Church of England) and a Baptist Church.
The village has a single public house, the Plough Inn.[1] It also has a primary school (Far Forest Lea Memorial CE Primary School) and a shop with a post office.
Mary Whitehouse, the relentless campaigner for decency in the media, lived with her husband in Far Forest early in the 1970s. She later alleged they were forced to move away after opponent protestors tracked her down and picketed their home.[2]
