Emperor Island is one of the Dion Islands which lie south-east of Adelaide, the southern point of Adelaide Island off the Loubet Coast of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory.
The island was surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from "Stonington Island" in October 1948 and named 'Emperor Islet' from the colony of emperor penguins (Aptenodytes forsteri); later it was upgraded to 'Emperor island'.
Other isles amongst the Dion Islands have been named on the same theme, after members of an emperor's court.
