Cook Rock lies off Braces Point, the north-east point of Vindication Island in the South Sandwich Islands. It is an arched rock, rising 148 feet above sea-level from a reef in the Nelson Channel, passing through the Candlemas Islands.
The rock was charted by Discovery Investigations in 1930 and named after Captain James Cook (1728-79), the discoverer of these islands.
