Carrigaphooca Stone Circle is a stone circle in County Cork,[1][2]
The circle has been declared a National Monument. Its name means 'Stone of the púca' ('fairy')."[3]
The Circle is to be found two and a half miles west of Macroom, immediately east of Carrigaphooca Castle, north of the N22, and near the confluence of the River Sullane and River Foherish.[4]
Description
- Location: 51°54’35"N, 9°1’30"W
There were five stones: four standing and one inclined, but now only three remain. The circle's diameter was about 18 feet.[5]
