Capel Fell is a mountain of 2,223 feet amongst the Ettrick Hills. Its summit is on the ridge which forms the watershed between the Tweed basin and Annandale and the border between Dumfriesshire to the west and Selkirkshire to the east. Its summit is Selkirkshire's westernmost point.

Wind Fell, just forty-three feet shorter, stands along the ridge to the southeast. The next summit along the ridge to the north is White Shank and beyond it Bodesbeck Law (2,173 feet).
