Bredon's Norton or Norton-by-Bredon[1] is a village eleven miles south-east of Worcester,[2] in Worcestershire. In 2021 the parish had a population of 254.
History
The name "Bredons Norton" means 'Bredon's north farm/settlement'.[3] Bredons Norton is recorded in the Domesday Book as Nortune.[4] Bredon's Norton was "Nortune" in the 11th century and "Northton" in the 13th century.[5]
In the early 12th century Bredons Norton Manor was held by the Bishop of Worcester.
