Brayford is a village in Devon, on the River Bray and to be found amongst the hills of Exmoor about five miles from South Molton and six miles from Barnstaple.
The village sits beneath open areas of common land. It is a small rural community and in the surrounding area are many farms.
Immediately above the village, to the south, is a hamlet, High Bray, where stands the parish church. There is though a chapel in Brayford itself. About a mile away is the hamlet of Charles, Several quarries are found hereabouts too.
The village can be found along the Ilfracombe - South Molton Road in North Devon, and is also near to the North Devon Link Road which connects the area with the M5.
The large Brayford Quarry lies on the outskirts of the village. It is operated by Hansons but remains an asset of Archibald Nott & Sons.
