Bowmanstead is a hamlet in Lancashire, a mile south of Coniston village along the A593, which skirts the west side of Coniston Water. Beside it is an attached hamlet, Hawes Bank.
The village is within the Anglican Parish of St Andrew's, Consiton, but it does contain a Roman Catholic church, Sacred Heart.
The village pub is The Ship Inn, next to Hawes Bank.
To the west of Bowmanstead runs the old Coniston to Foxfield railway line, which is now a footpath leading to the village of Coniston in the north and Torver in the south.
