The Boondreigh Water in its valley

The Boondreigh Water is a minor river of Berwickshire, flowing in Lammermuir. The Boondreigh begins by that name at Pyatshaw, though its main stream, the Blythe Water, is longer, formed several miles to the north by the burns running off a jumble of slopes on Lammermuir.

From Pyatshaw, the river turns south-west and runs around the bottom of Boon Hill (1,070 feet) past the farm at Thirlestane (55°43’21"N, 2°41’26"W) and the ruins of an ancient fortress, Old Thirlestane Castle, to enter Lauderdale and join itself to the River Leader.
