Bolt Head is a headland on the south coast of Devon, marking the western side of the mouth of the Kingsbridge Estuary,[1] as it opens into the English Channel.
The headland on the opposite side of the estuary is Prawle Head, the southernmost point of Devon. Along the coast south-west of Bolt Head is another headland, known as Bolt Tail.
Bolt Head and Bolt Tail are part of a large estate along the coast owned by the National Trust.
The headland is surrounded by crags and cliffs, tipped by a cliff-bound point known as the Mew Stone. To the south of the headland is Starehole Bay in which is a rarely frequented beach.
