Name
The name 'Berrier' means 'hill shieling', from the Old English beorg ('hill') and the Old Norse erg meaning 'shieling' or 'hill pasture'.
'Murrah' nearby is a compound of the Old English mor', 'marsh' or 'moor', and the Old Norse (v)rá, meaning 'nook' or 'corner'.[1]
