Beenkeragh is mountain in County Kerry, within Ireland's highest range, MacGillycuddy's Reeks. It reaches 3,314 feet above sea level at the summit, making it the second-highest mountain in all Ireland, overtopped only by Carrauntoohil, which stands to the south.

Beenkeragh is connected to Carrauntoohil by a long ridge, the highest point of which is considered a separate top, known as Carrauntoohil Tooth or The Bones.

Ascent

There are two main approaches to climb Beenkeragh. The first is up the Hag's Tooth Ridge, a challenge not for the faint-hearted and requiring a scamble in places. The other is across the narrow ridge from Carrauntoohil, which is again not a route for the inexperienced and requiring work on hands-and-knees on occasion.
