Information

Aunt Nea's Inn at 1 Nea's Alley in St George's in Bermuda is a historic house from the Georgian flowering of the colony.

Built in 1791, the house was originally known as Hillcrest. In 2015 the property was lovingly restored by the then owners, Faith Bridges and Neil Moncrieff. The house stands in a half-acre lot in the town, within the Unesco-designated world heritage site.

The 19th century poet Tom Moore is said to have stayed at the Inn - then likely under the name of Hillcrest - and penned his poem Odes to Nea there.[1] The property was the American Consul’s residence in Bermuda during the American Civil War.

The house today is surrounded by manicured gardens including a Bermuda moongate, with a view over St George's Harbour.
