Altishane or Altishahane is a small village and townland in Tyrone. It sits near Strabane, between Plumbridge and Donemana, in the Barony of Strabane Lower. The townland covers 744 acres.[1] There is one primary school, Altishane Primary School.
The name of the place is from the Gaelic Allt Inse Uí Chatháin, meaning 'Glen of Ó Catháin's islet'.[2]
