Allen Bay is a semi-circular bay half a nautical mile wide, lying one nautical mile west-northwest of Larsen Point in the northern part of Cumberland West Bay, on the north-east coast of South Georgia.
Survey and naming
The bay was charted in 1926 by Discovery Investigations personnel on the RSS Discovery, and was named by them, probably for Harold Tuckwell Allen (1879-1950), Secretary of the Interdepartmental Committee on Research and Development in the Dependencies of the Falkland Islands, 1917-20, and a member of the "Discovery" Committee at the time of the survey. Allen Point on Montagu Island is also named after him.
