Advent Island

Advent Island lies in the south-west entrance of the Peltier Channel of the Danco Coast of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory.

The island and nearby rock were called descriptively Rocas Bauprés. Following the work of an Royal Navy Hydrographic Survey Unit from HMS Protector 1956-57. The feature was named 'Advent Island' because a landing was made to fix its position on Advent Sunday, 1956.
