Hawarden

Hawarden is an village in eastern Flintshire, forming part of the Deeside conurbation; partly industrialised but retaining sufficient of its old charm. By the village is Hawarden Airport, serving the Raytheon and BAE Systems aerospace factories in the adjacent village of Broughton, where Airbus manufacture the wings of the Airbus airliners.

Hawarden's most famous resident was William Ewart Gladstone, who built Hawarden New Castle here. (Read more)
