Caen Hill

Caen Hill is a downland hill in Wiltshire on which stands the town of Devizes.

The hill is famous not for the town, but for a most remarkable flight of locks indefatigably climbing the hill into Devizes over a course of two miles, bringing the Kennet and Avon Canal up 237 feet onto the higher plains beneath the Marlborough Downs.
