Ben Macdhui

Ben Macdhui, the second highest mountain in the British Isles, stands on the border of Aberdeenshire and Banffshire, in the Cairngorms.

Overtopped only by Ben Nevis, it is the highest of the range, and the highest in each of its two counties. The mountain stands on the southern edge of the plateau and is usually climbed from Cairn Gorm to the north. Beyond, stand the magnificent peaks which make up the rest of the Cairngorms. (Read more)
