Shalbourne is a village in Wiltshire. The Berkshire border crosses through the north of the village so that much of the village spills over into the latter shire. Nearby are dependent hamlets including Bagshot to the north, and Rivar and the village of Oxenwood, the latter two in Berkshire, to the south, all of which has been bundled into the same civil parish; about half of the parish of Shalbourne, and part of the village itself, lies in Berkshire.

At the 2001 census, the parish on both sides of the border had a population of 600.
