West over the Loch Affric

Loch Affric is a freshwater loch lying within Glen Affric near Beauly in Inverness-shire.

It is all within the Glen Affric National Nature Reserve.

Loch Affric is one of two primary lochs of Glen Affric through which the River Affric flows, the other, lying downstream to the northeast is Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin.

A number of smaller lochs surround Loch Affric: above it to the southwest are Loch Coulavie and the tiny Loch Na Camaig, the latter also on the river course. At the northeast, Loch-Pollan Fearne and Garbe-Uisage both drain into Loch Affric.

North of Loch Affric rises Sgurr na Lapaich, a munro with a height of 3,773 feet, while to the south is the more modest Aonach Shasuinn, which still climbs to 2,913 feet.
