Denton is a hamlet in the West Riding of Yorkshire. At the 2011 Census the population of this civil parish was less than 100.
The hamlet is to be found amile north-east of Ilkley, A fine country house, Denton Hall, stands here.[1]
The parish church, the Church of St Helen, in the village is noted for some its windows which instead of stained glass, are panels where the artists have painted directly onto the glass.[2]
The name Denton comes from Old English and means valley farmstead (or village).[3]
