Battersea is a town on Surrey on the south bank of the River Thames. It is within the metropolitan conurbation spread out from London (being less than 3 miles southwest of Charing Cross), completely contiguous with all the towns on each side of it.
Opposite Battersea on the Middlesex bank lies Chelsea.
