Sgùrr Coire Choinnichean is a dramatic, whaleback-shaped peak overlooking Loch Morar on the Knoydart peninsula in south-western Inverness-shire. It is the fine peak, which rises dramatically behind Inverie, Britain's most isolated village. Its summit is at 2,556 feet above sea level.
No road pushes through Knoydart, and so most climbs begin with a ferry journey from Mallaig, and from the lock the steep rise of the mountain is dramatic. The climb is accordingly a steep one up to the summit ridge, from which are spectacular views over the loch, Knoydart, and to Skye.
