Soar is a tiny village in Anglesey, in the west of the Isle of Anglesey, north of Bethel and a series of other Biblically named villages.

The name "Soar" is from the city of Zoar in the Holy Land. In the Book of Genesis, Lot is told to flee to Zoar to escape the destruction of Sodom:

Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

Genesis 19:22
