Whitway is a hamlet squashed against the A34 north-south trunk road, a mile south of Burghclere in the north of Hampshire. Across the trunk road lies Highclere Park, and beyond it Highclere. The nearest town is Newbury, which is five miles to the north, across in Berkshire.
