Icebergs in Flandres Bay

Flandres Bay lies on the Danco Coast of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory, its mouth being between Cape Renard and Cape Willems.

A number of small islands lie within the bay.

The bay was roughly charted by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition, 10-11 February 1898 under Gerlache, and named Baie des Flandres after the region of Flanders which makes up half of Belgium. The bay was further charted in February 1904 by the French Antarctic Expedition of 1903-05 under Charcot It was recharted by the French Antarctic Expedition of 1908-1910.

The bay was photographed from the air by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition of 1956-1957.
