New Quay

New Quay is a seaside town in Cardiganshire with a resident population of some 1,200 people. The town stands on Cardigan Bay with a harbour and large sandy beaches, and it remains a popular seaside resort and traditional fishing town.

The picturesque harbour and expansive beach, and the bottlenose dolphins in the bay draw many visitors in the summertime. New Quay is also one of many places to claim a connection with Dylan Thomas: local tradition holds that it is the original 'Llareggub' of Under Milk Wood. (Read more)
