Mount Barré is a mountain of 7,220 feet in the south-east of Adelaide Island and which is the highest peak of the Princess Royal Range.
The mountain was roughly surveyed in January 1909 by the French Antarctic Expedition of 1908-10 under Charcot. It was resurveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from Stonington Island in 1948 and named after Michel Barré (b.1919), a French engineer and the Leader of the French Antarctic Expedition to Terre Adélie of 1950-52.
