Pickworth is a village in Kesteven, the south-western part of Lincolnshire. The population of the wider civil parish, which includes Braceby and Sapperton, was 243 at the 2011 census. It is situated approximately eight miles both east of Grantham and south of Sleaford.
The Domesday Book of 1086 lists Pickworth as having forty households and a church.[1]
The parish church, St Andrew, dates from the 12th century, and is built in limestone. The 14th-century rebuilding of the church is said to date from 1356, probably by the Pickworth family. The church is a Grade I listed building.[2] Over the chancel arch are 14th-century wall paintings dated to about 1380.
