Benington is a village in Holland, the south-eastern part of Lincolnshire. It is about four miles east of Boston, on the A52 road.
The wider parish contains the hamlets of Benington Sea End and West End. Nearby villages are Butterwick and Leverton. The parish has a recorded population of 569 in 2011.
The name derives from Old English, meaning "Benna's farm (or settlement)".
The parish church is dedicated to All Saints. It dates from the 13th to 15th centuries, although it was restored in 1873 by James Fowler of Louth. The church is a Grade I listed building. It has a 14th-century font.[1]
Purril's Almshouses date from the 15th century, although rebuilt in 1728, and are Grade II listed.[2]
