Buntingford Manor House is an 18th-century building in Buntingford, in eastern Hertfordshire.
The house is a Grade II listed building.[1] It was built in the 18th Century but underwent substantial alteration and extension in early 19th Century. The house is built over two storeys, in grey gault brick with a half-hipped slated gambrel roof. It is within the village, set back from street.[1] It now serves as offices for the town council.
History
The house, on Market Hill in between The Crown Public House and Barclays Bank, was originally the home of the Lord of the Manor.
The house now belongs to Buntingford Town Council, and serves as the town council offices. The council chamber within the Manor House is licensed for weddings.[2] and was form some years used as the Buntingford Heritage Centre, though this has since contracted to a display within the building, giving information on the history of the village.[3]
