Barrow is a parish in the Eddisbury Hundred of Cheshire containing the villages of Great Barrow, Little Barrow and Stamford Bridge. It is situated about 4½ miles east-north-east of Chester, six miles north-west of Tarporley, and the same distance south of Frodsham.

Little Barrow formerly had a station on the Mid-Cheshire line, named Barrow for Tarvin, but it closed in 1853.[1] The former Railway pub at Little Barrow is now the Foxcote tearoom,[2] but Great Barrow retains its pub, the White Horse, which also provides accommodation.[3]

Barrow Cricket Club has two Saturday teams and a midweek side. The 1st XI play in the Cheshire County Cricket League Division Two, and the 2nd XI plays in the Cheshire Cricket League Division B West.[4]

The population taken at the 2011 census was 941.[5]
